Want to know how to get your blog comments approved?
One of the problems new bloggers encounter when building links for their blog is not getting comments approved. Back when I was doing link building for a client, blog commenting was a huge challenge because I can’t get most comments approved quickly.
And since it was my first time doing it, I realize now that there were a lot of things I could have done differently to get better results.
A few years later, I’ve gotten better in commenting other blogs for traffic. And because of that, I was able to do my job a lot better.
Here are some of the things that can get your blog comments approved:
- Don’t just concentrate on PageRank. Previously, blog owners are too concerned about PageRank because it meant better quality links. The higher PR a blog has, the more important that web page is, which means it’ll appear higher on search engines, so having a link in that page will benefit your site. However, concentrating only on PR is not going to help you get blog comments approved quickly because the quality of comments matter more.
- Choose only relevant blogs. Back then we were using paid packages that has lists of high PR blogs to comment on. It was a tedious task because I had to go through all the links. The problem was majority of them were irrelevant to the site I was building links to. Even if someone clicks on my link on those blogs, it’s not going to help because it’s not a site they’d be interested in.I found it more successful to comment on blogs related to your website.
- Use your real name & upload a photo. Blog owners are very concerned with spam, which is the reason they unapprove comments. Never use a keyword as your name and use a gravatar or a photo. This will show blog owners that you’re a real person.
- Read the post before commenting. Quality of the comment is most important. Compose insightful, relevant, and interesting comments. You can only do that by reading and comprehending the post. “Great post!” or “Thanks for sharing” won’t get your comment approved–ever.
- Keep it concise but not too short.
- Comment on other comments. It also pays to read what other people had to say about the post. Commenting on other comments will introduce you to other bloggers, which is great in increasing exposure for your website.
- Link to your social media accounts, like Twitter. This will inform blog owners you’re not spam and it can also increase your followers, which is another way to increase website and blog traffic.
- Avoid putting hyperlinks in the comment itself. Spam comments typically have links in the comments, so don’t do this especially if it’s the first time you’re commenting on a blog. I’ve encountered only few blogs that allow hyperlinks AND approve comments quickly.
- You must not look spammy. This is the most important guideline in commenting on blogs. The tips above will all keep you from looking like spam and get your blog comments approvedquickly.
So the next time you prepare for commenting on other blogs, remember these and you’ll be surprised at how quickly you’ll get the results you want.
