Sorry, I’m Leaving Your Blog!

Building up a blog requires a lot of effort. Whether it’s the design or the content that you want to feature, careful attention must be paid to each of those aspects that comprise a blog. But how does it feel when a visitor, as soon as they land on your blog, says something as horrible as this – ‘Sorry, I’m leaving your blog.’ It certainly means your blog is not designed to make visitors happy.
Unless visitors want to stay on your blog and interact (and take some specific action), you are in big trouble. If you want to establish a blogging business and make money from it, you should always take good care of your blog visitors, so they come back again and again.
Visitors may leave your blog due to various reasons. Some of the reasons may be common while others may be quite surprising.
Let’s take a look at these five reasons –
I Can’t Wait
It’s like you sent an invitation to a visitor. But when they arrive and knock on your door, there’s no one to answer. They stand there waiting. Finally, after waiting for some time, they return. Many times, never to come back!
The same can happen with your blog as well. It’s an age where people want information in the twinkling of an eye. If your blog loads slowly, you can be sure to push visitors away.
So, will you make your blog visitors wait?
I Don’t Know Where to Go
Another big reason that compels visitors to leave a blog is a poorly designed navigational structure. If the visitor is on your blog, they must be in search of something. Therefore, it’s your duty to help them reach the piece of information they came looking for.
A well-designed navigation is –
CONVENIENT
QUICK
EASY
Make sure, your blog has a good navigational structure.
The Interlinking is Irrelevant
Interlinking posts on a blog is a good SEO practice. It’s a good practice because it helps readers dig deeper into a specific topic. But visitors don’t like it when they find the interlinking irrelevant. While reading a particular topic, they click on an internal link for further exploration. But they become unhappy if those links lead them to non-relevant pages or topics.
Nobody Shares Your Blog Posts
There are several signs that show whether a blog is really lively and whether it has interactive visitors. One of these is social signals. Today’s blog visitors are smart enough to evaluate the quality of a post even without reading it. Usually, top quality blog posts get lots of social sharing too.
If your blog posts have few or no sharing at all, it reflects really badly on the reputation of your blog. Visitors think that you posts are boring so nobody shares them. And they leave quickly.
You Have Too Many Sponsored Posts
Publishing sponsored posts or product reviews is a good idea to earn some extra cash from your blog. But there should be a limit. If 3 out of every 5 posts on your blog are sponsored, your credibility is at stake. Publishing too many sponsored posts sends a clear signal that you don’t care about featuring your ownvalue-added content on the blog.
Your blog visitors think that money is all on your mind. Since you don’t care about them, they don’t want to hang around either.
