The Best WordPress Admin Design

WordPress admin dashboard design is looking ugly for savvy wordpress users.

A lot of plugins had been created to make the design looks better, but not all of them are great.

From 3 weeks I posted a post on the top 5 plugins to improve your WordPress Admin Page.

The post got a lot of likes and tweets, that made me do more research about this topic.

I found a lot of plugins. Some of them were bad, others were good and some of them were amazing.

But there is only one plugin that made me love using wordpress more and more.

The plugin that I love to use

The plugin that I’m using today to make my WordPress Admin Dashboard looks pretty cool is MP6.

It’s created by the WP team which means that it’s of high quality.

Here’s some of the iterations Matt did for the plugin:

• A visual treatment for the toolbar and menubar that visually unifies the two and reduces clutter.
• Flatter visual styling, with square corners, for tables and grouping elements like .postbox.
• Increased saturation of the traditional WP blue (old vs new comparison:http://cl.ly/image/1X2G3X1Y0y2g ).
• A splash of color to denote the current menu item.
• Removed the burnt orange hover state in favor of a lighter blue.
• Single-color icons are now served via an icon font, making them load instantly and look crisp at any zoom factor.
• Consistent typography for all operating systems by including the Open Sans web font. (Cognizant of complications embedded this could entail.)
• Added padding between links in the menu for easier touch navigation
• Lightened the page background using white backgrounds for grouping elements and a gray background for the body.
• Removed the large header icons for a cleaner look at the top of the page.

The light version:

A few days ago, a new plugin is released for a light version of the dashboard.

Here’s a screenshot of the new version:

If you’d like to have the light version, you should have the main plugin and then download the MP6 light plugin after that.

You need to have both of them. Just install the second plugin and everything will be great.

This plugins is an amazing plugin that I’m still using till today. I recommend everyone to check it out.

The WP design is boring. This new design encourages me to stick more and write more content.
