Simple Ways to Come Up With Great Blogging Ideas

Ever ran out of ideas for a blog topic? It can be very difficult especially if you have a deadline to beat. We can’t help it but every blogger will come to a point where great blogging ideas are hard to come by. But don’t simply blame it towriters’ block because you’ll eventually discover that coming up with awesome ideas and writing excellent blog posts are simply a matter of habit.

Here are simple ways to keep great blogging ideas coming

Exhaust your brain

great blogging ideas can come from talking to othersAt first, this may sound ineffective because it’s hard to think when your brain is tired. However, that’s only for stuff that requires analysis. Studies have shown thatcreativity can be triggered when your brain is exhausted. It’s found that people will have an easier time coming up with creative ideas when their brains are dead-tired simply because the brain doesn’t have the strength to filter out ideas.
It’s natural for the brain to analyze and decide if a certain idea is logical or not. It’s more likely to discard those that don’t make sense at the moment. And since creative ideas are usually out-of-the-box, they’re hard to come by when your brain keeps on filtering it. If you brainstorm when the mind is already tired, it won’t have much energy to filter the things that come to your mind and that would make it more open to lots of ideas–creative ideas.

Talk to a lot of people, especially those who know a lot about your niche

Talking isn’t just therapeutic; it’s also informative. It will open you up to another world. It’ll add to your knowledge. By talking to people who know more than you do, you increase your stock knowledge. And that makes it easier for you to think of ideas for your blog.
Whenever possible, communicate with people you look up to in your niche. You’re sure to learn a lot from them. Does that mean you need to talk to them face-to-face? No, because that’s not possible with everyone. But you can still have a piece of their mind by doing the following:
  • Subscribing to their newsletters
  • Reading their blogs
  • Listening to podcasts
  • Commenting on their posts (they’re more likely to answer back)
  • Sending them an email

Reading books, magazines, and other materials will help you come up with great blogging ideas

I’ve always believed that to be an effective writer, one has to be a wide reader. You must love reading because it won’t just hone your writing skills. It’ll also make you more creative. Great blogging ideas won’t fall on your lap. You must do some thinking. When you start brainstorming, you’re bound to remember something you read and connect it with other ideas until you come up with a really good blog topic.

Watch a lot of television

Television is a great tool because it offers a better way for some people to process information. You can learn so much from watching T.V. I have. Because of watching a lot of different shows, I was able to write locally–that means writing to a specific audience in a language that they can identify with.
Don’t think the boob tube is not good for you. You’ll be surprised at the many times you’ll think of great blogging ideas with help from the shows you’ve watched.

Stay updated with news related to your niche

News is a great source for blog topics. Aside from the fact that news in itself is a source of blog topics, you’ll find it easier to connect two different ideas using the information you’ve acquired from the news.

Find out what your readers want

Your blog posts are meant to appeal to readers. You must write only stuff that they’d like to read otherwise, it’s pointless. So how do you find out what they want? Research!
Ask a question on your blog. Create a poll. Talk to them directly. Stalk them.

Twitter, Facebook, Google+ are will get you inspired

Social media is so great because there’s vast information for you. You can always find something new that you can incorporate with your blog posts. Aside from that, you can be sure that the stuff you get from here can go viral simply because it’s already shared by many people before it reached you.

Remember, great blogging ideas are not hard to come by as long as you exposure your mind to a lot of things

So there you have it. These are really simple ways to come up with great blogging ideas. They’re made that way so you won’t need to squeeze your brain when coming up with your editorial calendar.
