Why You Should Never Buy Facebook Fans and Twitter Followers

It doesn’t matter who you are, everyone wants to have a huge following on their social networks. With Facebook currently at a over a billion users and Twitter with another few hundred million, it seems like it might be easy to get a few thousand fans and followers in no time. If you do some research on the topic then you will probably come across a few web sites and advertisements that offer services to increase your social following count.
As tempting as these services sound, STAY AWAY FROM THEM ALL!
One service that I do recommend using is Twiends – The don’t sell followers, but instead sell exposure to other users who might want to follow your account.
The truth is the majority of these networks are garbage and will offer you nothing but a loss of money, garbage traffic, fake fans and even more headaches.
At the same time I’m sure you are asking, “If these services are so horrible, why are they around?“.
This makes perfect sense… the honest truth is that these services are around for three reasons:
  • They make money because a new sucker is born every minute
  • Some brands want to make it look like they have a bigger following with fake fans
  • New people and companies are joining social networks every day and they don’t know any better
Now you know better, so make sure you don’t fall into these scams for followers.
Social Media Networks
Here’s what you need to know about growing your brand through social media and doing it right!

1 – Numbers Never Lie… or Do They?

Sure, it’s definitely cool to see celebrities on Twitter with their millions of followers, but they are the exception. It’s easy to grow a following when you are already a worldwide brand and especially in the entertainment industry. The numbers you see from the majority of celebrity Facebook and Twitter accounts out there are real, but not all accounts have “real” followers in the several hundreds of thousands to millions range. In fact, there is a great deal of fake social profiles out there just to spam accounts and try to sell promotional tweets to their fake audiences. Don’t always believe the hype, and don’t try to impress anyone by buying fake followers.

2 – Less Engagement, More Headaches

Not only will buying fake followers not impress anyone, it will also clutter up your account and make it a huge pain for you to try and engage with your audience. This just leads to more headaches for you and less of a “quality score” or “EdgeRank” as Facebook refers to it for your account. Some of the major social networks actually base a score to your accounts and fan pages based on how many users are interacting with your updates and posts. Stick with real followers and you will be much better off in the long run.

3 – Complete Waste of Money and Time

I can only keep stressing the issue of how much time and money is wasted on fake followers. First off, do you really think you could get 100,000 legitimate followers for only a $99 or whatever the going rate is these days? The truth is that these accounts are mostly foreign, have no activity and are automated bot accounts that were made strictly for inflating fake accounts. Save your money and your time, buying fans will only leads to more stress.
So what is the best solution?
The best answer to how to build a loyal and effective social following is the same answer that businesses have been running off of for years. Create a legitimate business, quality products and engage with your audience to grow your brand. No one gets a million followers overnight and this isn’t a process that happens quickly.
